Orion is a stunning 4-year-old Maremma looking for a home where he can thrive. He was surrendered due to nuisance barking in suburbia, so he needs space where he can live the lifestyle suited to his breed.

What Orion Needs:
✔️ A home on acreage – suburban life isn’t for him
✔️ A secure area while he settles in
✔️ Large-breed experienced or savvy owner – someone who understands independent breeds
✔️ Ongoing training – strong on the lead and needs someone committed to working with him.

Personality & Behaviour:
✅ Good with other dogs and has lived with a cat
✅ Social once settled – enjoys human company, even with strangers
✅ Responds better to men – seeks their attention more, but would still be fine with female owner.
✅ Knows basic commands – can sit and lie down
✅ Loves children – he will need children who are confident and comfortable around large, excitable dogs
✅ Very playful, often gets the zoomies and loves a game of chase (you have to chase him!)
✅ Has shown no interest in livestock
✅ Appears to be toilet trained – Has not had any accidents when kennelled for the nights

⚠️ Behaviour Notes:

Orion is a big boy at 39kg and can be resistant when asked to do something he doesn’t want to. He has growled in the past when uncomfortable. With calm and confident guidance this behaviour has now stopped.

He is strong on the lead and will need continued training. We have found he responds well to a no-pull harness.

Orion is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped and UTD with flea, heartworm, tick and intestinal worms prevention.
