Gentle goofy Murphy has been waiting very patiently for his new family to come along.
Murphy is a handsome 40kg, 5½ yo Mastiff x, that loves cuddles and loving, so an inside/outside home where he can spend time with his family is ideal. He’s a big lounge lizard, but still loves a game and does zoomies with his squeaky toys in the backyard. He enjoys a walk and loves a car ride that takes him to new adventures like a walk in a new place or the beach. Murphy’s new owner should be confident, dog savvy and able to continue training as he settles into the home. He does best with clear boundaries and directions and therefore a home that aren’t first time dog owners.

Being an older boy, he’s toilet trained and has shown not to be a chewer or digger. He has lovely manners, but his training & socialisation will need to be ongoing. He’s very food motivated, so be careful to not tempt his opportunistic side and leave things in reach on the kitchen cupboard!
He enjoys the company of other dogs and would love to have a play mate to share his home with as long as they have similar personalites. He may suit being an only spoiled pooch with a family that is home more often than not, as he has shown some separation anxiety. 6ft fencing is required to keep him safe.
He’s been in foster care with kids and shows to be good with them, however, due to his size, we would suggest dog savvy and over the age of 7.
He’s in care with a wary kitty and has met her, so he could possibly live with dog savvy cats if introduced properly. He has met chickens and goats and has not shown any interest in these.

Murphy is located in the Lake Macquarie area of NSW and is available for NSW or ACT adoption only. His adoption fee is $500 and he’s ready to meet his new match now
